Rarity Crafting

2. RARITY CRAFTING crafting and upgrading equipment |
3. ITEM REROLL reforge, values, locks and gems |
4. LEGENDARY ATTRIBUTES unique legendary effects |
Rarity Crafting covers the creation of set equipment and the path from Rare to Epic and Legendary. Changing the stats on an existing item is documented separately on Item Reroll.
Crafting an item
- Find the blacksmith or crafting NPC for the equipment family you want.
- Say crafting and open the crafting window.
- Select a recipe. The window displays the output and every required material.
- Put all materials in your main backpack. Materials in a hand, ammo slot or another equipped container may not be accepted.
- Confirm the recipe. If your backpack has no free space, a successfully crafted item may be sent to your inbox.
| Use the crafting window as the current recipe list. Material requirements can change independently for every set, so old screenshots and price tables may no longer be correct. |
Rarity on crafted equipment
Recipes can work in three ways:
| Recipe type | Result |
|---|---|
| Normal craft | Creates the recipe item without a rarity roll. |
| Rarity craft | Creates the item and rolls Rare, Epic or Legendary according to that equipment family's profile. |
| Legendary-preserving recipe | Some recipes that consume a Legendary item preserve Legendary rarity on the upgraded result. |
The normal crafting attribute profile is shown on Item Rarity. Set-specific profiles may have different ranges.
Upgrade path
RARE → EPIC → LEGENDARY → LEGENDARY ATTRIBUTE
| Material family | What it does | Risk |
|---|---|---|
| Guaranteed Rare → Epic or Epic → Legendary for a compatible tier/set. | The rarity upgrade succeeds, but unlocked normal attributes are rolled again. | |
| Reforges a compatible rarity item into a randomly selected rarity. | The result is random; do not use it on a valuable item without understanding the possible downgrade/change. | |
| Reforges a Legendary item and additionally attempts to roll a Legendary Attribute. | A unique attribute is not guaranteed. Unlocked normal and legendary attributes can change. |
Old 10% upgrade scrolls are retired. Use the active Ancient 100% materials for a compatible next-rarity upgrade.
Equipment tiers
A material tier identifies the equipment family and its matching rarity/reroll materials. Rare, Epic and Legendary are rarity levels. Changing rarity does not move an item to a different material tier.
Beginner is a separate material family, not Tier I. Match the material label to the selected item; the Reroll window displays compatible materials. A crafting recipe alone does not establish the item's material tier.
| Material family | Equipment families |
|---|---|
| Beginner (separate family) | Beginner Set (Bishop, Black Knight, Dark Magician and Silver Hand) |
| Tier I | Ancient Amethyst Set · Cthsual Set · Early Tier Set (includes Master, Elder, Hero, Black and Godly equipment) · Frozen Set · Hunter Set · Imperious Set · Inquisitor Set · Pyromancer Set · Reaper Set · Sea Order Set |
| Tier II | Alchemist Set · Bloody Saint Set · Demon Hunter Set · Destruction Set · Dragon Knight Set · Dragon Magician Set · Dragon Paladin Set · Elite Guard Set · Flame Order Set · Heavy Ranger Set · Hellfire Set · Immortal Set · King Set (the four armor pieces are named Forgotten King Set in the bonus reference) · Light Order Set · Orc Set · Saint Set · Wind Order Set |
| Tier III | Bloody Tentacle Set · Cobra Lord Accessories · Cobra Lord Set · Death Order Set · Gorgon Accessories · Gorgon Set · Magician Urtrudurk Set · Tentacle Set · Urtrudurk Set |
| Tier IV | Bloodmoon Set · Magician Bloodmoon Set · Magician Samurai Set · Samurai Set |
| Tier V | Crimson Bonelord Accessories · Crimson Bonelord Set · Crimson Dragonforge Set · Infernal Dragonforge Accessories |
Example: Inquisitor Spellbook belongs to the Inquisitor family and uses Tier I materials. Its Rare/Epic/Legendary rarity is a separate property. Guardian equipment has no confirmed Beginner or Tier I–V family in this catalogue; see Guardian Set.
Check individual equipment and set bonuses in the item catalogue and comparison tool. For an existing item, the compatible choices shown in its Reroll window remain the final reference.
Reroll materials are part of the same progression
Once the correct rarity has been crafted, the following materials refine the result:
See Item Reroll before using these materials. The page explains what is preserved, what is replaced and how lock gems are consumed.
