Gem Disassembly
An Advanced Disenchant Crystal lets you recover selected gems from an enchanted item through the client window.
Requirements
- The target must already contain at least one extractable gem.
- The crystal and the equipment must both be inside your containers.
- The equipment cannot be worn while disassembling it.
Step by step
- Move the enchanted item and an Advanced Disenchant Crystal into your backpack.
- Use the crystal on the enchanted item.
- In the window, choose a gem family or an individual gem and amount.
- Confirm the extraction.
On success, the exact embedded gems you selected are returned. One Advanced Disenchant Crystal is consumed. If you do not have enough capacity, recovered gems are delivered to your inbox.
What can be extracted?
- Ordinary stat gems can be removed individually or as a whole family.
- An active Protection Gem can be recovered.
- The Vocation Gem assigned to an item can be recovered, but only after every gem level above the normal base cap has been removed.
- A Vocation Change Scroll is a conversion tool, not an embedded gem, so it is not returned by disassembly.
Before removing a Vocation Gem: compare the item's current family levels with the base caps on Enchanting. Extract the excess levels first. This prevents an item from keeping vocation-only upgrades after its assignment is removed.
Troubleshooting
| Message or problem | Solution |

| The item must already be enchanted | Choose an item that contains an extractable gem. |
| Both items must be carried | Put both the crystal and equipment inside your backpack or another container. |
| The item is being worn | Unequip it and place it in a container. |
| The Vocation Gem cannot be selected | Remove all gem levels that exceed the family's base cap, then reopen the disassembly window. |
| Not enough capacity | Complete the extraction; any recovered gems that do not fit are sent to your inbox. |
