Rarity Crafting covers the creation of set equipment and the path from Rare to Epic and Legendary. Changing the stats on an existing item is documented separately on Item Reroll.

Crafting an item

  1. Find the blacksmith or crafting NPC for the equipment family you want.
  2. Say crafting and open the crafting window.
  3. Select a recipe. The window displays the output and every required material.
  4. Put all materials in your main backpack. Materials in a hand, ammo slot or another equipped container may not be accepted.
  5. Confirm the recipe. If your backpack has no free space, a successfully crafted item may be sent to your inbox.
Use the crafting window as the current recipe list. Material requirements are read from the active server configuration and can change independently for every set. Old screenshots and price tables may no longer be correct.

Rarity on crafted equipment

Recipes can work in three ways:

Recipe type Result
Normal craft Creates the recipe item without a rarity roll.
Rarity craft Creates the item and rolls Rare, Epic or Legendary according to that equipment family's profile.
Same-tier upgrade A recipe that consumes a Legendary source item can preserve Legendary rarity on the upgraded result when the recipe is configured for tier inheritance.

The normal crafting attribute profile is shown on Item Rarity. Set-specific profiles may have different ranges.

Upgrade path

RARE  →  EPIC  →  LEGENDARY  →  LEGENDARY ATTRIBUTE

Material family What it does Risk
Rare to Epic upgrade scroll Low-chance upgrade scroll Attempts Rare → Epic or Epic → Legendary. The configured tier upgrade chance is 10%. On a failed upgrade, the item remains at its previous rarity, but the reforge action may still replace its unlocked normal attributes.
Ancient guaranteed upgrade scroll Ancient upgrade scroll Guaranteed Rare → Epic or Epic → Legendary for a compatible tier/set. The rarity upgrade succeeds, but unlocked normal attributes are rolled again.
Random rarity upgrade scroll Random rarity scroll Reforges a compatible rarity item into a randomly selected rarity. The result is random; do not use it on a valuable item without understanding the possible downgrade/change.
Scroll of Legendary Essence Legendary Essence Scroll Reforges a Legendary item and additionally attempts to roll a Legendary Attribute. A unique attribute is not guaranteed. Unlocked normal and legendary attributes can change.

Equipment tiers

Equipment tier decides which scroll/gem family the item accepts. It does not describe the item's Rare/Epic/Legendary rarity.
